My neighbor and I wanted to have concrete pads for our generators poured. Rob gave us an extremely reasonable estimate. We agreed to go forward and Rob and his crew came on the day they said they would and at the time they would start and did a magnificent job. We found Robert and his crew off of the great google reviews and I can see why. Within a day of calling we had a site review and quote and within two weeks our concrete was schedules and poured.

We had a side area of our home that was packed crushed granite that did NOT hold up to our dogs and traffic through the gate.

The concrete job was done in 3 hours and dry in 24 and was such a great investment.

We are very happy with the work and will use them again!

Great price, unbelievable work, professional crew. I was really worried because I had a custom made greenhouse coming from England. I needed a foundation built prior to its arrival. This crew is a well-oiled machine of fantastic professionalism. The team worked together in a way that can only be described as a dance. The patio has been up for four years now and it is as perfect as the day it was poured.

The patio involved needing to accommodate a clean out thingie, and so I looked around for a gizmo that could be utilized in an unconventional way to secure the clean out and still allow access. Some contractors dislike off-label uses for objects. Not them - they helped problem solve and embraced the solution. Again - four years later and all is still great.

Not a thing I'd change. I'd totally call them again in the future.

LOVE Robert the Barefoot Concrete Man! So loving, weird, and smart...really made me miss my daddy. Loved seeing his grandbaby pics on his iPhone. Oh, and the work, it was done thoughtfully, on time, and exactly as promised. How refreshing! I hired Robert & crew to remove a huge concrete slab at my sister's house to reduce impervious coverage, but I'm saving up my money to hire him to pour some concrete stairs & more at my own house. I had intended to write this review several years ago, but now I think it is valuable as a testament to the time tested quality of his work.
In Nov. 2009, I had a 20x20 slab for a garage formed and poured by David. Today, there are no cracks or sags, it has held up well. It cost me $2,800, I am sure that it is more now, but that was very reasonable even 5 years ago. I was very happy with his work and how quickly he got it done, as well as the site clean-up. I would recommend him.

There's a reason for all the five-star reviews. On time for the estimate (even came out on a Saturday morning), provided suggestions to go along with my request, gave me a very fair price, crew showed up on time and we're done by the time I got home. Very professional, well priced and highly recommended.

Robert and his crew were outstanding. My wife and I received bids from 7 different companies and found that ACC had not only the best pricing but also the best online reviews out of anyone that bid our job.

Huge shout out to his team for recommending a couple design changes on the morning of the job that we honestly never considered. We're thrilled with how the job turned out and are incredibly grateful they had the experience and knowledge to make the suggestions they did.

I would hire again. Robert and his crew, including his two sons, descended on my project around 8:30 am and were finished by noon. My project was a footing for a retaining wall as part of a terrace I'm building in my back yard. I already had forms and steel ready for them. Total volume they poured was 9.5 yards and site was about 130 feet from street so a line pump was required. His price was a bit higher than other bids but he was on time and had a quick turnaround. Quality of the concrete was very good. He was super easy to deal with and I appreciate his refreshing candor. He had two helpers go around afterwards and clean up most concrete splatter and waste. For my job I preferred his COD terms rather than giving money up front. COD makes sense to me for one day job but not everyone in town operates like that.

I had a really good experience with Robert and his crew and wanted to share a tip. They recently repaired my driveway, walkway and poured a new patio for me at my home.

Some background. We were repairing a situation where my walkway and driveway have literally sunk over 3 inches relative to the slab foundation. There are a number of options and I had assumed that I'd have to demolish and pour an entire driveway costing thousands. I was prepared to spend a small fortune. Probably the most important thing Robert helped me with was finding a simpler, low-cost way to fix my problem without going overboard. And it worked! He has a trustworthy intuition about what will help the customer rather than padding his wallet.

His crew showed up on time in the morning to begin work. My job involved more than a little digging, jack-hammering, concrete sawing. They setup the forms squarely and did a good job of the prep work. My situation was a little more complicated because I had several complex angles involved to the sloping nature of my property. Robert did the right thing without me interfering. I'm not sure if someone with less experience would have known what to do.

Haul away of my old, demolished concrete was handled efficiently, the same day even though I changed plans on them at the last minute. Same with the delivery of the new concrete. I was impressed how the logistics of this job were handled. I know things don't always go to plan, but they did for me.

In the end I was impressed with the quality of the work, using steel rebar throughout. Robert is also a genuine, nice guy. I wish my builder had cared as much about building durable concrete structures as Robert.

After reading the reviews and meeting Robert, I decided to hire his crew to do my back patio and fix my front walk. We discussed options and I never felt like he was trying to upsell me. Instead, he helped me evaluate different price points for different scales of my project, making sure it was what I wanted and not what he was trying to sell me. I was so impressed by the craftsman approach to the job. The pride in workmanship that was evident in all the workers. They arrived on time and worked diligently. The price was much less than the other two quotes I received. My boyfriend used to work construction and hates concrete patios generally, but said this one might change his mind. He noted in particular the beautiful edges, seams and brush strokes. But the thing I liked best was I felt I could trust Robert to do it right and he and his team did. I can't say enough good things about Robert and this company.

Back in June of this year I had some foundation repair work done in a house in Austin. As a result of the work the property ended up with a change in elevation between the garage/entryway and the driveway which included an original drainage system that also suffered some damage. So the problem I had was to find someone to repave with correct angles and elevations to make it practical to drive on, avoid rainwater retention and maintain the aesthetics of the property.

I called several contractors to get their opinions and suggested solutions. Robert's plan was simple and the cost was reasonable, plus the reviews on this site and others, helped me decide to go with him. The work was done as presented and with good weather he actually finished a day in advance. Not living in the house I drove up to receive the job and was happy to see that 2 of the 3 requirements were met. The 3rd one was related to the rainfall so I had to wait for a good downpour prior to posting this review.

With the rains Austin has had recently mainly due to Harvey, my son who lives in the house confirmed that the water is draining as expected, away from the house.

I must say that based on everything I went through with Robert and his company, I totally recommend them as a reliable and experienced company. I am so glad with the decision I made.

I contacted around 6 contractors when I decided to build a 20x12 concrete patio extension. Robert and his crew's bid came right in the middle of the pack, but still had all the promises/techniquesas the more expensive guys, so I went with him.

Robert came THE NEXT DAY after calling him, I told him all my plans about eventually adding a pergola and he explained everything very thoroughly. Double rebar reinforced edging means my patiowill be able to hold up the weight of my pergola, and this was already included in his quote! other guys wanted to add $$$ to the quote for reinforced border.

To be clear, Austin Concrete Construction are a no frills kinda company, I got my quote handwritten on a piece of paper. They do not offer stuff like stamping, staining, warranty etc... But talkto Robert about it, he gave me awesome suggestions and guaranteed his work.

I was given Robert's name from a friend who had had a few patios poured by Austin Concrete. He came out and gave me a quote the next day and even hipped me to the fact that I could increase the size of the pour and it would not cost much more since you pay for the concrete by the truck load.

My patio was in the back of the house, a good bit away from the driveway and I thought that would mean renting a concrete pumper, but to my surprise, all of the concrete was brought in by wheel barrow and Robert and his crew of about seven quickly and efficiently trucked the concrete in and had it professionally finished in just a few hours.

Robert uses a sturdy mix of a rebar grid and a thicker layer with extra reinforcement around the edge. It blends seamlessly with my existing patio and I am so happy with the result. The price was very reasonable and I will definitely trust Robert and crew with my next project.

I found Austin Concrete Construction years ago on Yelp. We had them bid on a project we never ended up doing. It had nothing to do with their bid; we simply sold our home. Fast forward a few years, our new home needed the driveway to be widened. You could not pass two cars if one was in the garage and another in the driveway, despite being a 2-car garage.

Robert came out to the house in his signature barefoot attire. We walked through the project, he took some measurements and told me he'd be in touch with a quote. The quote was reasonable, given how thick and strong the concrete had to be (support a diesel truck). He gave me some upcoming dates and we locked one down.

Robert has been specializing in residential concrete for Austinites since the 70s. His son and two other employees have been with him since the early 90s. They are a staple in our community. And for good reason.

They arrived on time (8:15 AM) and ready to go. They had the form and rebar ready to go by lunchtime. The concrete truck showed up at 12:30 and was gone by 1 PM. The finishing work and forms were removed around 2:30 PM.

As promised, this was a 1-day job for exactly what was quoted.

They walked me through how the new section was reinforced and attached to the existing driveway. They also helped slope it to drain water properly. Despite being towards the side of the property and abutting the fence, they still did the finish work on the sides of the new slab.

Best of all, they helped accommodate our 8-month old daughter's handprint into the concrete.

They thanked us for our business, cleaned up every last bit of debris, and were on their way before 3 PM. I have nothing but great things to say and recommend you use them for your concrete needs. The price is fair and the work is exceptional.

Couldn't be more pleased. Robert stuck to the original quote, and I know they had to use additional concrete. Plus, this job was under a deck in the back yard, and they had to wheelbarrow from the street a long way up and down steep terrain. Also, it was super-hot and humid, and they squeezed the job in a pretty tight window despite the pending storms. No rescheduling, no upcharge, job done in one day.

The price was more than reasonable and well within the price range I expected. I highly recommend their work. You feel like you've been taken care of those who have a real work ethic.
